Getting to grips with Wiki

At the moment I'm wondering what the "What Links Here" item in the toolbox at the bottom left actually does - it looks like it might be useful somhow... Mairi

Well, it just shows what other artiles from wiki links to current article :) Nercury 02:33, 4 December 2006 (CET)

I like the idea of supporting new and original articles, as opposed to Wikipedia's "no content without reference".

However, that will require some rules in the future, especially if different authors have different points of view and start edit war.

I agree totally -

A couple of weeks ago I spoke to Chris Carota about this - he mentioned to me that he was planning to add several new articles to the wiki and then to publish them on the forums afterwards. I suggested to him that it might well be a better idea to post an article in the forum first - in order to gain an overview of different opinions on any subject for possible inclusion in the first version of the wiki article; my feeling is that this might lead to a more "rounded" article in the first instance.

By trying to give an overview of different opinions in the first iteration of any wiki article, this could potentially lead to less editing of the original; rightly or wrongly, I was a little concerned that Chris's expectation may have been for his wiki articles to stand "as is" and remain unedited. Hopefully my words of caution haven't put him off entirely!

Many thanks indeed Nercury for all of your help with the wiki; without your and Elijah Bailey's hard work and dedication to this project it wouldn't be where it is now. Grateful thanks to you both.

I will be away for some weeks as I am off to the Hoxsey clinic in Mexico and may not be able to get online for some time, so I wish you a wonderful holiday season and look forward to catching up on my return. Mairi x
